Air Fryer Tempura Vegetables
The air fryer makes it easy to cook tempura vegetables. With this formula you can create your own customized tempura-battered veggies by using different vegetables, seasonings, and dipping sauces.
Ingredients :
- 2 large egg whites
- 1/4 cup seltzer water
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/4 teaspoon seasoning (see variations below)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 cups vegetables ((see variations below))
- 1/2 cup purchased dipping sauce (see variations below)
Directions
- Preheat air fryer to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Beat egg whites in a bowl until frothy. Whisk in seltzer water
- until combined. Whisk in flour, SEASONING, salt, and pepper until batter forms.
- Coat basket with cooking spray. Dip VEGETABLES into batter until coated; allow excess to drip off. Working in batches if needed, arrange vegetables in an even layer in basket. Cook until golden brown, about 7 minutes. Serve with DIPPING SAUCE.
