Simple Chili

Simple Chili
I love quick and easy meals are the name of the game, so this easy chili recipe fits right into my recipe box!
Ingredients :
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 pound ground lean beef/turkey*
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 1 medium green bell pepper chopped
- 2 15 ounce cans petite diced tomatoes drained
- 15 ounce can pinto beans rinsed & drained
- 15 ounce can kidney beans rinsed & drained
- 2 8 ounce cans tomato sauce
- 1/2 tablespoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon mexican chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper optional
- toppings of your choice
Directions
- In a Dutch oven or large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add turkey or beef and cook until nearly browned, stirring frequently, approximately 5-7 minutes. Since the meat is lean, it should not require any draining.
- Add onion and bell pepper and cook until softened, stirring occasionally, about 5 minutes.
- Add remaining ingredients, stirring to combine.
- Bring to simmer for a minimum of 10 minutes.
- Ladle into bowls and top with your choice of garnishes, cheese, sour cream, raw onions or anything else you can imagine!
